Public’s help sought to find suspect in Green Level murder

Reward Increased to $3,500 In Search For Murder Suspect Lloyd Carvon Gillis, Jr.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday, November 25 an additional $1,000 has been added to the reward for information leading to the whereabouts and arrest of Lloyd Carvon Gillis, bringing the total reward to $3,500.

Lloyd Carvon Gillis, Jr. is wanted on a charge of 1st degree murder in the shooting death of Christopher Tyrick Gattis, black, male, 24, of Green Level, N.C.

On Sunday August 16, 2020 at 12:55 a.m., Alamance County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of gunshot, at a residence in the 2200 block of James Boswell Road in Green Level.

The sheriff’s office believes Gattis was shot as he attempted to leave the residence a few minutes before the 911 call.

Gattis was transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center where he died a short time later of a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s Office has identified Lloyd Carvon Gillis, Jr. as the suspect in the shooting.
