There’s a showdown looming in area high school boys’ soccer when a pair of recent state champions meet for the first time this year.

Western Alamance visits Williams for Monday night’s Central Carolina 3-A Conference game at Burlington Memorial Stadium. The game is set for 6:30.

Williams held a 7-0-1 mark through eight games. Western Alamance entered mid-week with a 4-2-1 record.

Williams captured the 2019 state championship in Class 3-A. Western Alamance won last year’s Class 3-A state title.

Western Alamance and Williams split two games last season, each winning on its home turf.
