Robert Hoyle Vickrey, 86, of Burlington, NC passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of 41 years to Priscilla Buckner Vickrey, who survives and the son of Robert Hobson Vickrey and Edna Garner Vickrey, both deceased. He served in the National Guard and retired as Vice President of Lending at Capital Bank with 43 years in the banking industry. Hoyle was a member of the Alamance Civitan Club, Bula Masonic Lodge #409 AF & AM, and a Shriner with the Burlington Shrine Club where he served as past President and Treasurer. He was also a member of Friendship Church.
In addition to his wife, Priscilla Buckner Vickrey, survivors include a son, Donald Hoyle Vickrey of Burlington; grandson, Robert Tate and wife Ashley; and two great grandchildren, Rhett Vickrey and Landon Vickrey. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Clayton Vickrey.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be conducted at Friendship Church Cemetery on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Rich Fennelle.
