
Edward Hugh McClusky, 81, of Burlington passed away on October 24, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rita and Ed, his brother, John, and his sister, Maureen. He is survived by his wife, Joanne, of Burlington, daughter, Katie, of Burlington, son, Matthew, of Oceanside, New York, daughter, Anne, of California, Maryland and grandchildren Henry, Samuel, Benjamin, Emmeline, and Luke.
Ed grew up in Queens, New York, and after his graduation from St. John’s University, where he studied Physics. Ed worked supporting the U.S. Navy nuclear submarine program and training. Following his work for the Navy, Ed worked overseas in IT in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and Indonesia. Ed returned to the United States in 2000 and finished his career with AT&T in North Carolina.
Ed loved his dogs and was a fixture at the Burlington city dog park with his rescue lab, Eli, and an assortment of beagles.
The memorial service will be at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter at 320 East Davis St in Burlington, NC on Friday, November 1 at 2 pm. The service will be followed by a reception in the parlor.
