Sheriff seeks public assistance with homicide investigation

The office of Alamance County’s sheriff is turning to area residents for information about a 68-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in his home on the outskirts of Burlington over the weekend.

According to the sheriff’s office, the body of Edward Eugene Beasley was discovered at 5628 George Miles Road on Saturday afternoon. Sheriff’s deputies were initially dispatched to the scene at 1:55 p.m. and were soon joined by detectives and crime scene investigators as the nature of Beasley’s demise became clear.

A medical examiner ultimately concluded that the 68-year-old black male died from multiple stab wounds. At this point, however, the sheriff’s office hasn’t identified any suspects in the case. The agency urges anyone with pertinent information about Beasley’s murder to call 336-570-6777 to speak to one of its investigators.
