Suspect in Burlington murder found and caught in Florida

Sheriff’s deputies in Clay County, Florida have arrested a suspect in the first degree murder of a man who was shot dead in Burlington nearly a month ago.

According to Burlington’s police department, J’Raad Amajh Malik Simpson was taken into custody on Monday by deputies with the Clay County sheriff’s office.

A 40-year-old black male from Milton, North Carolina, Simpson had been sought for the murder of 54-year-old Tracey Dion Brown, who was slain along the 300 block of Foster Street on the morning of July 5.

Simpson is currently detained in Clay County pending extradition proceedings.
