Graham mayor Jennifer Talley presented a certificate of recognition and appreciation to Tommy Purcell, who was named the “Volunteer of the Year” by Graham’s Department of Recreation and Parks and the city council.
Talley described how Purcell began his “career” helping the city by picking up trash; he also serves as a docent at the Graham Historical Museum, helps make benches for the city’s parks, and has helped with numerous repair projects for the city.
