Veterans Day got off to an early start in Burlington on Wednesday as former service members and other local patriots gathered at Willowbrook Park to formally dedicate a “Veterans Overlook,” which occupies the one-time site of an American Legion Post.
Among those present were Burlington mayor Ian Baltutis, state senator Amy Galey, city councilman-elect Ronnie Wall, and retired businessman Dick Shirley.
The new park itself is a project of Burlington’s New Leaf Society, whose president, former county extension agent Rett Davis, was also present..
