What’s happening beside Morinaga off I-85/40?

QUESTION: What’s being built beside Morinaga along the interstate on the edge of Mebane?

ANSWER: From the interstate, the Bobbitt Construction sign and the work going on behind it may appear to be preparations for yet another industry locating in Mebane.

But, in fact, city officials say the clearing and grading going on is not nearly so exciting.

Rather, it is an expansion of the Morinaga parking lot.

The company has been expanding its production lines, and the existing parking lots are full, with overflow parking now on gravel areas near the production facility.
