A woman from the rural outskirts of Graham has been arrested after she allegedly burglarized a neighbor who was hospitalized at the time of the break-in.
Michelle Ashley Alston was ultimately taken into custody on Thursday after an eight-day investigation into the burglary along Lindley Mill Road, which was initially reported to the authorities on the morning of Wednesday, June 8.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, the victim of the burglary was at an area hospital when Alston allegedly forced open the door of the residence and took $800 from a locked filing cabinet in the victim’s bedroom.
A 37-year-old black female from 5480 Lindley Mill Road, Graham, Alston currently faces two felonies for breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. She is also accused of misdemeanor-level injury to real property.
Alston has been placed under a $2,500 bond since her arrest.
