Alamance County’s incumbent state legislative delegation – state senator Amy Galey, and state representatives Steve Ross and Dennis Riddell, all Republicans – were among the first to file for re-election when the board of elections began accepting nominations on Monday at noon.
Also filing was Register of Deeds David Barber, who is seeking re-election to the post.
Among other candidates filing were Ed Priola, a Republican seeking to serve on the county’s board of commissioners, and Pam Thompson, one of three incumbent Republican members of the board of commissioners.
Also filing was first-time candidate Chris Smith, a Democrat from Mebane, who is seeking one of the three seats on the board of commissioners.
The two-week election filing period continues through noon on Friday, December 15.
