A former Southern High School teacher is now facing additional charges of misdemeanor sexual battery and felony indecent liberties with a student.
Nicholas (“Nick”) Anders, 52, white, male, of 101 Kingston Lane, Graham, was charged Monday, June 9, with felony indecent liberties with a student and misdemeanor sexual battery, based on arrest warrants filed by investigators with the Graham police department.
Anders had also been arrested on June 4 and charged with felony indecent liberties with a Southern High School student and misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, according to his court files. Those cases remain pending in Alamance County criminal court.
The former Southern High School teacher currently faces a total of four offenses: two counts of felony indecent liberties with a Southern High School student; one count of misdemeanor sexual battery; and one count of solicitation of prostitution. Each of the charges allegedly involves four different females, the court files show.

Anders was released last week on a $50,000 unsecured bond for the new charge of felony indecent liberties and on a $25,000 unsecured bond for the new charge of misdemeanor sexual battery, based on two release orders that Alamance County district court judge Meredith Edwards entered on Wednesday, June 11. He has been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims in both cases and to submit fingerprints and DNA, according to Edwards’ orders.
The two new charges of sexual battery and indecent liberties allegedly occurred on March 27 and April 22, respectively, based on the arrest warrants.
Anders was previously charged on June 4 with felony indecent liberties with a student, identified in the court file as a female student at Southern High School; and with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, according to the arrest warrants. He was released from the Alamance County jail on June 5 on a $75,000 secured bond, the court files show.
The first two offenses allegedly occurred in early May, according to Graham police investigators.
Anders had long led the state and national award-winning Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter at Southern High School, where he’d been employed as an agriculture teacher in the high school’s career and technical education (CTE) department since 2005.
Anders resigned from Southern High School on May 30, 2025, based on the semi-monthly personnel report that school board members approved late last month.
The Graham police department said in a subsequent release that it had launched an investigation into a report of a teacher having inappropriate sexual contact with a student on May 29.
Anders had been suspended with pay from April 23 to April 24, 2025, Alamance-Burlington school officials confirmed in response to a public records request by The Alamance News. No reason for the suspension was given.
In addition to his teaching position, during the past school year, Anders had served as: an assistant lacrosse coach, assistant track coach, and assistant athletic director; a weightlifting coach and a junior varsity volleyball coach, according to ABSS.
Graham attorney Tony DiLello is currently representing Anders.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Graham police department.
Meanwhile, Anders is scheduled to make his next appearance in Alamance County district court on June 27 for the two new charges that were filed last week.
