Western Alamance alum Drew Hambright has been hired as the next football coach at the school.
Hambright was selected to replace Jeff Snuffer, whose retirement was announced in November after 16 years in the position.
Hambright becomes the program’s third coach in a 3½-decade period. He played under coach Hal Capps, who preceded Snuffer in the position and held the coaching role for 18 seasons.
Hambright, an East Carolina graduate, isn’t otherwise employed by the Alamance-Burlington School System. He served as a longtime assistant coach with the Warriors, but hadn’t been in that role recently.
Repeated attempts early this week to reach the new coach were unsuccessful.
Hambright is a 2001 Western graduate. He works for Alamance Fence.
Western went 140-59-1 under Snuffer. The Warriors were 7-4 in 2025.
