After an exhaustive statewide search, the Alamance Arts board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of veteran arts administrator, educator, and community-builder Chris Williams as its new Executive Director.
Williams, a Greensboro resident with a 30+ year record of serving in both 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and local government roles, will begin his tenure on June 1.
Williams, a native of Athens, Georgia, earned his B.A. in Music Education and his M.A. in American Civilization (folklore). His professional background includes work as a performer, music educator, folklorist, scholar, event producer, and exhibit curator.
Most recently, Williams served as the Executive Director at Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro from 2014-2026.
He has also held leadership positions at the National Council for the Traditional Arts, Arlington County Cultural Affairs, and the Garth Newel Music Center.
