Southern Alamance knocked off host Patrick Henry in high school football Friday night in Roanoke, Virginia.
Southern won 30-28, reversing an outcome from a year ago.
Southern (2-0) has won both its games on the road. Patrick Henry was in its season opener.
Southeast Alamance 48, Seaforth 21: At Haw River, Southeast Alamance built an early lead in the non-conference home victory.
The Stallions (2-0) led 27-0 at halftime.
Seaforth fell to 1-1.
Western Alamance 14, Southwest Guilford 0: At Elon, the host Warriors have posted at least one shutout in three consecutive seasons.
Western (2-0) has won two home games.
Southwest Guilford is 0-2.
Northeast Guilford 36, Eastern Alamance 7: At Mebane, Northeast Guilford set the tone with a couple of long touchdown plays and went on to the road victory.
The Rams scored on two 70-yard pass plays in the first quarter and led the rest of the way in a game that began following a pregame weather-related delay.
Northeast Guilford (2-0) was up 14-0 halftime. It was 28-7 going to the fourth quarter, with an Eastern blocked punt resulting in a safety before the Rams tacked on the final touchdown.
Eastern (1-1) lost to the Rams for the second year in a row.
Thomasville 42, Cummings 20: At Burlington, the visiting Thomasville team pulled out the victory to improve to 1-1.
Cummings dropped to 0-2 after falling in its home opener.
Eastern Guilford at Williams – postponed
The matchup was moved to Thursday night at Burlington Memorial Stadium because of concerns regarding Friday’s weather forecast.
Then less than three hours before the scheduled kickoff, an automobile accident involving at least one Williams player resulted in the game being postponed.
No make-up date had been announced as of Friday night.
