County’s new HR director introduced

Tanika Bryant did not try to hold back her excitement on Monday when she was introduced to Alamance County’s commissioners as the county’s new human resources director.

A 23-year veteran of the personnel management profession, Bryant reportedly joined Alamance County’s staff about a week and a half ago to fill a position that became vacant in February, when the county’s previous H.R. director left under a cloud of scrutiny after the unauthorized release of bonuses to emergency workers.

According to Alamance County’s manager Heidi York, Bryant had come to Alamance County from Wake County, where she had served as the employee relations manager for the county. Her prior postings included stints as the HR director for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department and the personnel head for both the city of Augusta and Richmond County, Georgia.
