The 77th annual Central Piedmont Junior Livestock Show and Sale was held recently in Hillsborough. This is the 35th year the show was held at the Central Carolina Holstein Association Barn in Orange Grove, open to 4-H and FFA youth ages 5-18 in Alamance and surrounding counties.
Alamance County had eight 4-H members showing 14 animals in this year’s show. Two of those 4-H members were showing for the first time.
Caleb Schmid exhibited a market hog winning Junior (ages 8-10) Showmanship Grand Champion and 1st place in his market hog type class.

Corey and David Schmid each exhibited a market hog as Cloverbuds. Cloverbud youth are ages 5-7 and show non-competitively.
Elaina LaRusso exhibited a beef heifer for the first time and won Junior Showmanship Reserve Champion and 3rd place in her heifer type class.

Kenzi Riley exhibited a meat goat doe, and placed 2nd in her type class.
Annabeth Riley exhibited a meat goat doe as a Cloverbud.
Hutch Robertson exhibited two meat goat does and two market goats. He placed 2nd and 4th in the meat goat doe type classes, and 2nd and 3rd in the market goat type classes.

Hutch also placed 2nd in the 11-12 year old project record book category.
Sage Robertson exhibited two meat goat does and two market goats. She placed 1st and 5th in meat goat doe type classes, and 3rd and 4th in the market goat type classes.
