ENGINEERING SERVICES
FOR ROOF REPLACEMENT
INSTRUCTIONS: This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is designed to comply with all applicable rules and regulations – including all Board of Education Policies. Engineering firms wishing to submit for consideration should follow the guidelines established herein. A Statement of Qualifications (Exhibit 1) along with supporting documentation, should be submitted to Jimmy Russell, ABSS Project Manager, Alamance- Burlington School System, 1712 Vaughn Road, Burlington, NC 27217, before 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday, January 17. Statements of Qualification received after that time will not be considered.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Alamance-Burlington School System is seeking professional design and engineering services to provide design services, develop construction documents, construction administration and inspection services for multiple roofing projects at various sites over the next 24 months. Interested firms may be considered for one or all of the projects.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Executive Summary limited to three (3) pages including the name of the Proposer, location of Proposer’s principal place of business, a brief narrative description including the age of the business, type of business organization and services offered. Summary should describe the Proposer’s approach to providing design and engineering services, construction document development, construction administration and inspection services. Identify the Proposer’s strengths and any special qualifications your firm may possess. Please also include your firms approach to project safety during preconstruction and construction.
SELECTION CRITERIA and FORMAT of PROPOSAL
The criteria in the Statement of Qualifications form (Exhibit 1) will be used by the selection committee to evaluate your submission. Please note, it is very important that you follow the exact order when responding to each item on the form, not doing so creates difficulty for the selection committee to evaluate your submission. Also, answer all questions and fill in all blanks where applicable. The information may be provided on a separate document but the format and order must be followed. Provide four (4) copies of your submittal and one electronic copy on a USB drive.

The following criteria will be used to select Geotechnical and material testing firms for interview and the final selection. Please address the following in your submissions:
1. Expertise and past performance on School Projects:
• How many schools or school projects has your firm completed in the last FIVE (5) years?
• On your last five (5) K12 projects, what was the final outcome of your original budget estimates compared to the actual final cost?
• What was the actual number of non-owner generated change orders on your last five (5) projects?
• Provide the following information on five (5) completed projects that demonstrates experience and include at a minimum the following information for each project. As one of the five (5) projects listed, please include the largest single K-12 project your firm has completed in the last 5 years.
