Mike Roshelli of Graham won the Alamance County Senior Amateur golf tournament for the second year in a row.

Roshelli shot rounds of 1-over-par 71 and 75 on Monday and Tuesday at The Valley Golf Course in Burlington for a four-shot victory at 146.

Steven Bingham placed second after rounds of 77 and 73.

Craig Cathey (76, 75), the 2022 champion, and Horace Broderick (75, 76) tied for third at 151.

Roshelli, a long-time member at the course, won last year with 137. There were 20 entrants this year.

“The course played hard,” said Mike Long, club pro at the host course. “It was windy.”

Roshelli had first-round birdies on No. 9 (part of a front-side 35) and No. 12 before a pair of bogeys to end the round. In the second round, he birdied No. 13.

Ray Womack of Burlington had an eagle from the fairway on the par-5 third hole, which was playing at 554 yards, on the tournament’s first day.

In the first flight, Mark Henline was the winner with 154 (79, 75).

The tournament was moved from spring to autumn. Roshelli’s 2023 title came in early June.

Long said the plan will be to keep fall dates for the 2025 tournament.
