
Alamance County’s sheriff’s office has arrested a man who shot at his father during an early Sunday morning altercation in Snow Camp.
Deputies were called to the 700 block of Clark Road, Snow Camp about a physical domestic disturbance.
While dispatched to the Snow Camp home at 6:25 a.m., deputies were advised that the aggressor, identified as Coy Dean Parker, had fired a gun and threatened to kill the caller. The communications dispatcher said a gunshot was heard, then the phone line was disconnected, and the dispatcher was unable to reestablish contact.
When deputies arrived, they found the suspect in the front yard involved in an altercation with family members. When approached, Parker resisted being detained by the deputies and lunged toward them. He was detained and placed in a patrol car.
During the subsequent investigation, it was learned that Parker was intoxicated and had assaulted his father and a female in the residence. The father had left the home, but Parker had fired on his father; there were no injuries to the father.
Parker, a white male, aged 30, of 732 Clark Road, Snow Camp, was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center. He has been charged with:
1 count of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill;
1 count of misdemeanor assault on a law enforcement officer;
1count of misdemeanor resist, delay, and obstructing a public officer;
1 count of misdemeanor simple assault;
1 count of misdemeanor communicating threats; and
1 count of misdemeanor assault on a female.
He was placed in the jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
