A man from Snow Camp has been arrested for sex crimes that allegedly took place about five years ago with a child who was roughly 10 years old at the time.
Matthew S. Parrott was ultimately taken into custody on Thursday for these alleged offenses, which were initially reported to Alamance County’s department of social services earlier this year. This report eventually prompted the office of Alamance County’s sheriff to launch its own investigation of the alleged sexual abuse on September 8.

According to the sheriff’s office, this inquiry has led to four separate charges of indecent liberties against the 39-year-old white male of 7241 Union Camp Drive in Snow Camp. An arrest warrant filed last week accuses Parrott of committing each of these “lewd and lascivious” acts on or about January 1, 2019 with a child who reportedly turned 10 years old later that month.
According to the sheriff’s office, Parrott was taken into custody on Thursday and has since been released under a $50,000 secured bond.
