Carole Earlene Austin Boviall

Carole Earlene Austin Boviall, 83, of Graham, NC passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025.

Carole was born in Dekalb County, Illinois and grew up in Southern Wisconsin. She was the loving wife of Tom Boviall for 64 years, who survives and the daughter of Earl Stanley Austin and Golda L. VanSickle Austin, both deceased. After graduating high school at the top of her class, she attended Meredith College and North Carolina State University and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and her Masters’ degree from East Tennessee State University. She later pursued her doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee. Carole consistently maintained the highest GPA’s available and received many scholastic honors throughout her educational pursuits.

Carole had many interests and talents. She was an English Professor, Art Teacher, Newspaper Columnist, Real Estate Broker, Architect, and avid golfer. Her main passion was Oil Painting and over her lifetime she amassed a diverse collection of masterful landscapes. Carole was an active member of Graham Presbyterian Church where she served as head of the Presbyterian Women, was a circle teacher, a Memorial Garden committee member and an Elder of the church. Most importantly, Carole was a loving wife and mother to two children who provided the most loving and incredible home a family could ever wish for. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Victoria Boviall (Edward Karwacki) of Graham; a son, Kelly Boviall (Kim) of Kernersville; and a brother, Allen Austin (Virginia) of Janesville, Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be conducted at Graham Presbyterian Church on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. by Dr. Steve Braswell and Rev. Michael Sarvis with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
