A resident of Burlington faces a felony charge after he allegedly sold an illicit narcotic to a man who suffered a fatal overdose early this spring.
According to Burlington’s police department, Christopher Jacob Tidwell was formally charged with “death by distribution” last Tuesday following a six-month inquiry into the drug-induced death, which occurred on March 26 along the 2500 block of South Church Street.

A 29-year-old white male of 338 Spence Street, Tidwell was already facing a felony charge for fentanyl trafficking when the city’s police department charged him with this additional offense. Court records indicate that his bond for death by distribution stands at $250,000.
