A man from Orange County has been arrested for the possession of child pornography after an inquiry by a multi-agency task force that deals with Internet crimes against children.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, members of the Invictus Task Force filed charges against James Douglas Metcalf on Thursday for 10 felony-level counts of the second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The four-county task force had originally zeroed in on the 57-year-old white male, who hails from 2610 Mount Willing in Efland, based on multiple tips about illicit online activity from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Metcalf was ultimately served with an arrest warrant for these charges at Rowan County’s jail, where he is currently incarcerated in an unrelated case.
