Graham police have arrested two suspects after an early-morning robbery at a Graham truck stop.
At 2:28 a.m. Wednesday morning, Graham police officers responded to the Pilot Travel Plaza at 1044 Jimmie Kerr Road after an armed robbery had just occurred.
The suspects had left the store just prior to the officers’ arrival.
Victims at the truck stop gave a description of the vehicles in which the robbers had left.
A vehicle matching the description was observed on U.S. 70 nearby approximately two minutes after the initial call.
A Graham officer attempted to stop the vehicle near U.S. 70 (North Church Street) and Sellars Mill Road.
After a short pursuit, the robbers’ car crashed on Richards Avenue near Sellars Mill Road.
The driver and a single passenger fled the scene, but the driver was subsequently apprehended.  The passenger was described as an unknown black male in his 20’s.
The driver, who police identified as Tyrone Jackson, Jr., 28, black, male of 820 Sarah Williams Avenue in Graham, was arrested and charged with robbery

with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second degree kidnapping, two counts of assault on a female, felonious fleeing to elude, resisting a public officer, and driving while impaired. He is being held under a $1 million secured bond.
Subsequently the passenger from the car was located (at an address on Highland Avenue in Burlington) and arrested. He is Elijah Ishmel Jackson, 18, black, male, 1402 Knollwood Drive, Burlington. Burlington police assisted in the arrest, according to the Graham police department.

He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of second degree kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and resident a public officer. He is being held at the Alamance County jail under a $250,000 bond.
